Delaware River Report: May 29, 2024

We had a few periods of good rain yesterday afternoon but the West Branch came through in decent shape again. The flow at Hale Eddy is 566 cfs and dropping back. Oquaga Creek is only 42 cfs and dropping. The East Branch and Mainstem had color last night but should clear soon if we don’t get additional rain. A lot of people took advantage of the rain and higher water and had a good day on streamers. There was some dry fly fishing with olives, March Browns, Gray Fox, and caddis. The intensity of the hatches has varied by river section so keep your options open and be willing to move. Today looks very similar to yesterday with less wind.

Today will be 68 degrees with clouds in the morning and some potential storms in the afternoon. Total rainfall should be .11″. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
