Delaware River Report: May 31, 2023

Today will be another bright hot one. It’s fishing a lot like Summer with bugs early and late. Some people have found fish slashing caddis in the riffless in the afternoons but overall nymphing is probably the best bet during the day. Once the sund drops we are seeing a mix of bugs. Sulphurs, Light Cahills, March Browns, cornutas and a few Green Drakes are hatching. Dark Blue Sedges #14 are out in the evening (Psilotreta sp.). Keep an eye on the water temps. The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville all peaked at or above 70 degrees yesterday,

Today will be hot again hitting 85 degrees with sunshine. Wind will be light and variable.
