Delaware River Report: May 8, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 40 cfs with 3,651 cfs spilling over the top. The flows are dropping back but remain high. The Eastern drainage is dropping quicker. The West Branch is dropping slower due to the spill. Water clarity is improving and the rivers are fishable today from a boat. Wading is still not an option. There have been bus on some river sections even in the high water so bring a dry fly rod just in case. it’s mostly going to be a streamer / nymph game but someone may get lucky and find some fish on the edges or tail outs of the slow pools. We have more rain in the forecast over the next two days but hopefully the storms slide around us. The forecast continues to change everytime we look so keep an eye on the radar.

Today will be 62 degrees and partly cloudy. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
