Delaware River Report: October 14, 2024

We had some rain storms yesterday and again overnight but most of it soaked into the ground. Oquaga Creek leveled out at 32 cfs so the West flow didn’t bump much. The biggest bump was the Beaverkill of 100 cfs so everything should be in good shape today. We needed that rain and could use more. We have cloud cover and may get a few minor showers. The wind at 10 – 20 out of the West will dictate the fishing today. If you can find some sheltered places you should see the olives and hebes mid afternoon along with a few Isonychias and cahills. If you’re fighting the wind all day nymphing and streamers will be your best bets.

Cannonsville is turning over so the West Branch has that green tint we get most Falls. It doesn’t bother the fish or the bugs.

Today will be 52 degrees with clouds and periods of rain. Total rainfall should be .05″. Wind will be 10 – 20 mph from the West.
