Delaware River Report: October 16, 2024

Today looks a lot like yesterday with clouds and wind. The flows are dropping slightly as the runoff subsides. Throwing streamers on the West Branch or nymphing will be your best bets early. The olives and hebes have been hatching in the afternoon mixed with some Isonychias. Try to find a wind protected spot for the dry flies. The caddis have been more active during breaks in the wind.

Cannonsville is turning over so the West Branch has that green tint we get most Falls. It doesn’t bother the fish or the bugs.

Today will be 48 degrees with clouds and a chance of a shower. Total rainfall should be negligible. Wind will be 10 – 15 mph from the North.
