Delaware River Report: October 6, 2024

Its another foggy morning. It should burn off in the next couple of hours leaving us with mostly sunny skies. Throwing streamers early before the sun hits the water would be a good move. Once the sun pops streamers could still work on the West Branch with the color of the water. Otherwise nymphing or swinging wets will be the best bets. The bright sun may push the hatches a little later in the afternoon. Small olives and hebes are making up the bulk of the bugs with some Isonychias and cahills mixed in. Some river sections are getting more Isonychias than others so move around if you’re not seeing much in the late afternoon.

Cannonsville is turning over so the West Branch has that green tint we get most Falls. It doesn’t bother the fish or the bugs.

Today will be 70 degrees with patchy fog early turning mostly sunny. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
