Delaware River Report: October 6, 2026

The release from Cannonsville is 442 cfs. The increased release ismost likely to meet the minimum flow target at Montague, NJ. Check the Stilesville gauge link below for the most up to date information. We’ll have some wind today but much less than yesterday. We’re coming off a cold night so the water temps will take a bit longer to warm up. Some areas have frost this morning, The plan has been nymphs early with some dry fly action later in the day. Small olives have made up most of the hatch but there are some Cahills, hebes, and sporadic Isonychias out there. The West Branch has a greenish tint to it that is likely the reservoir turning. The fish and bugs don’t mind it and its actually better for streamer fishing.

Today will be 57 degrees with abundant sunshine. Wind will be 10 – 15 mph from the North.
