Delaware River Report: October 7, 2024

We should have better cloud cover today. If we get a stray shower the rain total will be negligible. Nymphing or throwing streamers will still be the best bet early. The olives and hebes have been hatching on some river sections in the late afternoon / early evening. The cooler air temp and cloud cover may push them a little earlier today. Blind casting Isonychias or cahills could pay off. The isonychias have been spotty but we are seeing them on some river sections.

Cannonsville is turning over so the West Branch has that green tint we get most Falls. It doesn’t bother the fish or the bugs.

Today will be 62 degrees, cloudy, with a chance of a rain shower. Wind will be 10 – 15 mph from the North.
