Delaware River Report: September 2, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 935 cfs. The release was most likely bumped up again to meet the 1,750 cfs flow target at Montague, NJ. The West Branch is fine for wading and floating but choose your wade spots carefully. The Upper Mainstem is fishing and is at a great level for wading. Olives have mad up the bulk of the hatch but a lot of fish are willing to eat Cahills and Isonychias. Blind casting the riffles has also been working. We’ll have a bit more sun than yesterday so nymphing or swinging wets might make the most sense during the day.

Today will be 75 degrees and partly cloudy. Wind will be light and variable.
