Delaware River Report: September 29, 2025

The release from Cannonsville is 771 cfs. They bumped us a bit higher yesterday afternoon and then dropped us back down. There is no rain in the forecast and the runoff is dropping so the release will likely stay at this level or higher for a while. The West Branch will have a pretty good tint to it at this release. It’s the normal color we get every Fall when the reservoir starts to turn or reaches a certain level. The fish and bugs aren’t bothered by it. It actually makes streamer fishing a more viable option and the fish should be a little more forgiving on dries. The small olives have been around in the late afternoons / evenings along with a few Isonychias and Cahills. Some riffles have decent Isonychia spinners at dark. It;s just a matter of being there when they hit the water.

Today will be 77 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Wind will be light and variable.
