Delaware River Report: September 4, 2023

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls and the East Branch at Fishs Eddy peaked at 66 degrees yesterday The Mainstem at Lordville peaked at 68. They are starting off a couple degrees warmer than yesterday morning. It’s time to give these rivers a break again.

Today is going to look a lot like yesterday with a few more clouds. So the best daytime dry fly potential will be in the colder water sections. Still a few sulphurs and olives. The better nymphing will be below Hale Eddy where there is less algae. Isonychias, olives, golden drakes, and flying ants are a possibility but most likely towards dark when the sun starts to drop.

Today will be 84 degrees and partly cloudy. So sunny. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
