We had some serious thunderstorms overnight (pink lightning – seriously), which dumped quite a bit of water over the West Branch, bringing us up dramatically. We are already seeing the river drop, and it will hopefully clear throughout the day today. The East Branch and Main Stem also rose, but appear to have avoided the brunt of the water. The warmer water temps are very welcome, however, and we should see both fish and insect activity pick up, even with the higher water.
Hatches:
Taeniopteryx fasciata – Brown Stoneflies #12-14
Chimarra – Little black Caddis #16-18
Baetis vagans – blue winged olives #16-18
Paraleptophelbia adoptiva (blue quill)– #16 – #18
