Delaware River Club: Upper Delaware River Report 8/20/2010
Looks like today is going to be another sunny day, yesterday we experienced slower action then the previous four days, however we still found some good targets on the West Branch. Main Stem water temperatures are still looking good down to the Buckingham access area. With BWO’s, iso’s and pseudo making up the majority of the dry fly action, keep an eye on the banks looking for large fish pushed out of the center of the river. If the sun keeps fish from rising today, try nymphing them up as this can be very productive on sunny days.

The river has been fishing very well. Dry fly action in the past few days has picked up significantly and we are still getting a good streamer bite as well. Yesterday supplied a good number of small olives and a few flying ants mixed in that had plenty of fish up and feeding. Today’s forecast is mostly sunny with a high of 85, but water temperatures are good and the evening hours have been cooling quickly.

Delaware River Club: Upper Delaware River Report 8/18/2010
Today looks like we will have mostly cloudy skies throughout most of the day. Last night was another good day to be on the water as there were good fish rising on the West Branch. Reports of excellent Iso hatches have been coming off the Main Stem as far down as Buckingham access area. Along with Iso’s other major hatching activity include pseudo’s, summer steno’s, various caddis and BWO’s. Although it seems like a 50/50 draw of whether they fall or not, trico’s have still been in the air nearly every morning. And as always if surface activity is slow, streamers are a great way to pick up large fish during the day.

Today is supposed to be mostly sunny with a high of 84 degrees. Yesterday was a great day to be on the river. We have seen the beginning of the flying ants and they had the river fishing very well yesterday. There is a good possibility they will once again produce great fishing action for today, but no way of knowing for sure. Streamers are still providing good action as well. Water levels and temperatures are still looking good, and with the recent drop, it is a little more wader friendly.

Weather forecasts for today are calling for more scattered thunderstorms and a high of 83 degrees. Today’s conditions should make for a good day on the river. Yesterday seen action on small Olives, Isos, and Cahills with a scattering of Sulphurs. Streamers also worked well and today, we would expect more of the same. With all the rain, mixed with cold water temps, the river became quite foggy later in the evening.

Weather forecasts for today are calling for scattered thunderstorms and a high of 77 degrees. These are going to be great conditions and should produce good fishing action. The past few days have been either overcast or mostly cloudy, and have seen a fair amount of bug activity, at least in the evenings. The streamer bite has been really good, particularly on the West Branch, and yesterday provided good surface action as well with a good variety of insect activity. Olives were out in the best numbers and were also joined by a fair amount of Caddis, some Sulphurs and Isos, and a pretty good number of Cahills.

Today is supposed to be partly cloudy with a high of 80 degrees. The cloudy and overcast days coupled with cool evenings and good water releases from the West Branch lately, have opened up a few extra miles of fishable water. Temperatures should be good to about Buckingham, but better a little further up river. Streamers are still proving to be the most productive, but small Olives and Isonychias have produced some surface action as well.

Today’s weather forecast is calling for partly cloudy skies and a high of 78 degrees. Yesterday’s overcast/rainy weather had the West Branch fishing really well. Streamers produced most of the action, but good hatches of small Olives brought some fish to the surface as well. The Upper Main fished decent according to some reports and not so well from others…conditions are good so it is at least worth a look. As of today, the water levels have dropped slightly due to the cutting back of the release.

Delaware River Club: Upper Delaware River Report August 12,2010
Scattered thunder storms will be passing through the area today. With the chance of showers comes good overcast and less direct sunlight. With less sunlight the river temps stay cooler and there is a better chance that you will find rising fish. Today looks like it is going to be a great day to be on the water. We had our first reports of white flies as well as golden drakes on the Main Stem. Tricos are still around nearly every morning on the lower West Branch and the upper Main Stem. In addition to these flies, plan on seeing plenty of BWO’s throughout the day along with sulphurs and sparse isonychias. The upper Main Stem should be at a good level for wade fisherman as well anyone looking to float. Water levels on the West Branch are still high so wade fishermen proceed with caution.

It looks like we are going to have a nice overcast day today. Water temperatures are still looking great throughout the entire West Branch and into the Upper Main Stem. Sulphers have been sporadic lately. Olives have probably been the most consistent as far as good hatches, and occasional Isonychias, Golden Drakes, and Cahills will float by and are often eaten. Streamers have produced the best action with the higher water levels and terrestrial patterns have also been reasonably effective when casted at the banks.

Today calls for Isolated T-Storms, but for now the sky is clear. Expect overcast skies later this afternoon which will likely produce good hatches and good surface action. Typically you can anticipate seeing small Olives and Sulphers under these conditions. Good flows have the river at a great floating level, but means that wade fisherman should be careful. There were reports of good fishing yesterday on the West Branch in various locations and today’s conditions should produce good action as well.
