Yesterday was the best wind day we’ve had in a while. At times there were some unpleasant gusts but overall we’ll take it this Spring. Nymphing is working well before the hatches. Flies that match the size of the predominant insects are working well so #14 – 18. Hendricksons, blue quills, and olives are making up the bulk of the hatching. There are also some quill gordons and little black caddis around. We haven’t had great spinner fall evening weather yet so some spinners will be mixed with the duns mid afternoon. Today looks like a great day to be on the water with sunshine, a high of 68 degrees, and wind 5 – 10 mph from the South. We have some rain in the forecast this week but the totals should be negligible.
The West Branch at Stilesville is 1,360 cfs. There are a few wade opportunities over here if you’re a strong wader and careful. The Beaverkill and Willowemoc are in good shape for wading. Click on the links below for the latest flow information
