Delaware River Report: May 17, 2026

Both Cannonsville and Pepacton Reservoirs are spilling. The release from Cannonsville has been cut back to 701 cfs with 162 cfs coming over the spillway. That opens up more wading on the West but the best wade spots will still be on the Beaverkill and Willowemoc. The caddis were out in force yesterday but the fish seemed sporadic on them in the bright sun. Hendricksons are still the main hatch on the upper river sections with March Browns, Gray Fox, and olives mixed.

Today will be 83 degrees with sun. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the West.
