The release from Cannonsville is 500 cfs. We’ll see some sun this morning with more clouds rolling in this afternoon. There is a slight chance of some showers so pack a raincoat just in case. We’re in the normal Summer conditions now so the fishing is pretty steady. Head to the coldest water for the best shot at dry flies during the day. Nymphing or swinging wets will be the best bets early. Sulphurs, Cahills, Isonychias, olives, and some caddis are all out on the water. Blind casting Cahills and Isonychias can be effective when there isn’t a hatch.
Today will be 87 degrees and partly to mostly cloudy. There is a chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
What’s Hatching:
Dark Blue Wing Olive – #16 – 18 – Baetis vagans
Sulphur – 16 – 20 – Ephemerella dorothea
Tan Caddis – #16 – 20 – Hydrosyche sp
Light Cahill – #14 – Epeorus vitreus, Ephemerella invaria, Stenacron spp.
Slate Drake – #12-2xl – 12 – Isonychia bicolor
