Delaware River Report: April 17, 2024

The release from Cannonsville was cut back to 0 with 1,187 cfs spilling over the dam. This is fine since the water temp of the spill is in the low 40’s. The lower flow should concentrate the bugs hatching and actually improve the fishing. Yesterday was a beautiful day to be on the water and people found the afternoon mix of olives, blue quills, and hendricksons. Today looks good with cloud cover and some rain. The wind is only 5 – 10 mph from the South so that’s definitely a nice change. There are some wade opportunities opening up on the Willowemoc and Beaverkill.

Today will be 59 degrees with clouds and periods of rain. Total rainfall during the day will be .18″. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.
