We were hit with some stronger storms than predicted and the river flows are up quite a lot this morning. The West Branch is okay with some color and running 1,260 cfs at Hale Eddy. The flow at Stilesville is 694 cfs so there are still some wade opportunities. Oquaga Creek has peaked and is already dropping so we should see the West drop today if we don’t get additional rain. The storms that hit Roscoe last night were pretty violent. The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls is flowing 1,140 cfs. The wind made yesterday really, really tough. It was mostly a nymph day but some people saw a few rising fish (not super steady because of the wind). It was a tough one.
Today will be cooler hitting 57 degrees. We may see a little additional rain. Hopefully Wunderground is correct and it’s only .05″. Wind will be much better at 5 – 10 mph from the North.
