Delaware River Report: August 14, 2023

The river flows have dropped back enough to offer good wade and float opportunities. The West Branch looks good this morning with decent clarity. The lower East and Mainstem still have some color. Not much has changed with the hatching. Go to the coldest water closest to the dams for daytime sulphurs and olives. It’s time to have a few flying ants in your box too just in case. The lower West may have a few afternoon olives if the clouds stick around but the best bet will be nymphs or wet flies during the day.

Today will be 80 degrees with a mic of clouds and sun. We should see more clouds in the afternoon. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
