Delaware River Report: August 18, 2023

We were hit hard with a thunderstorm early this morning and the flow at Hale eddy is 6,990 cfs and definitely off color. The river is unsafe below Oquaga. We’ll regroup tomorrow morning. Oquaga Creek peaked at 3,000 cfs and is beginning to drop but it will take a while for the West Branch to come down. The only shot today is above Oquaga close to the dam.

Today will be 73 degrees with thunderstorms giving way to partly cloudy skies. Wind will be 10 – 20 mph from the West.
