Delaware River Report: August 21, 2023

The West Branch is looking good this morning with decent clarity and 1,000 cfs at Hale Eddy. This is a good level for floating and wading. The Upper West is still clear and just under 600 cfs at Stilesville. The upper river is still your best bet for daytime hatching but we are seeing some bugs on the lower West with the cooler temps. Small sulphurs and olives are the main bugs still but we are seeing some flying ants and cahills. The East Branch and Mainstem are still high but are dropping.

Today will be 75 degrees with considerable cloudiness. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
