Yesterday was a tough day to be on the water with the heat and brutal humidity. The thunderstorms missed us and we had mostly sunshine. You definitely had to find shade by midday. Once the sun dropped we mostly saw olives with an odd Isonychia and cahill thrown in. Fish were eating on top in some spots but nymphing was your best bet early. We’re going to be hot again today at 90 degrees. Wunderground is saying 30% chance of thunderstorms. We could use one.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Upper Mainstem all peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. Those rivers are done for a while.
