It started raining overnight and is still coming down lightly this morning. The river flows are up and climbing. The West Branch at Hale Eddy is 663 cfs and the river looks clear out front at 6 am. It looks like the West Branch will come through the rain just fine. We may see some additional showers today but it looks like the bigger storms slid around us. If anything changes drastically we’ll do an update.
There were fewer bugs on the water last night but people still landed some fish. It sounds like the people who did the best on dry flies were blind casting the riffles. Nymphing was definitely a better bet early. Hopefully the rain pushes some olives today
