The release from Cannonsville was increased slightly bringing the flow at Stilesville to 594 cfs. Every bit of additional cold water helps. Today is going to a lot like yesterday with the air temp hitting the high 80’s. We do have a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Let’s hope we get hit with a few light storms. Tomorrow is a much better chance of rain with around 1/4″ expected. Plus the air temps drop back a bit tomorrow. People are finding fish on top early and late. Even if the storms miss us today we may get some helpful cloud cover to push some of the surface feeding earlier.
The lower East Branch, lower Beaverkill, and Mainstem will be too hot to fish today. The water temps peaked at or over 70 degrees yesterday and are starting off warmer this morning. Please give these rivers a break and fish the cold water areas.
