The aqueduct work has been pushed off again. It is now scheduled for Fall of 2024.
The storms slid around us and everything is in good shape this morning. We’ll have sunshine again so it’s back to normal July fishing If you’re looking for midday dry fly the best bet is the coldest water closest to the dams. Predominately small sulphurs and small olives with a few Isonychias and cahills. There is still algae in the Upper West so nymphing is better below Hale Eddy. Blind casting Isonychias with or without a dropper could put some fish in the net. Otherwise the dry fishing on the lower West will likely happen as the sun drops into dark.
The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville will peak over 70 degrees today. It’s time to give these sections a break and fish the colder water.
Today will be 79 degrees with a few clouds this morning turning into mostly sun in the afternoon. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
