The release from Cannonsville hit 900 cfs overnight and will be stepped down beginning at 6 am this morning. We should end back at 500 cfs by 8 am. They are pulsing from Cannonsville to keep the water temperature in check on the Mainstem. Today is going to be very hot again so try to fish early and late in the day. The West Branch and Upper East Branch temps closer to Downsville are fine. The East Branch at Harvard peaked over 70 degrees yesterday. Sulphurs, Cahills, Isonychias, olives, and some caddis are all out on the water. Head to the colder water for the best hatching.
The Beaverkill, lower East Branch, and Mainstem are staring way over 70 degrees today. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.
Today will be 94 degrees with sun in the morning and some clouds moving in during the afternoon. There is a chance of thunderstorms with rain totals around .34″. Wind will be 10 – 15 from the North.
