The release from Cannonsville is 500 cfs. They are pulsing form Cannonsville to keep the water temperature in check on the Mainstem. It’s not enough water to make the Main fishable for trout. The release hit 900 cfs for a couple of hours overnight and will drop back to normal this morning. Today is going to be very hot so try to fish early and late in the day. The West Branch and Upper East Branch temps are fine. Sulphurs, Cahills, Isonychias, olives, and some caddis are all out on the water.
The Beaverkill, lower East Branch, and Mainstem will all be over 70 degrees today. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.
Today will be 96 degrees and sunny. Wind will be 5 – 10 from the West.
