Delaware River Report: June 27, 2022

We woke up to a little rain this morning but so far it hasn’t been enough to affect the rivers. The cloud cover and cooler air temp that came with the rain are certainly welcome. Yesterday was bright and warm. There were some bugs early but most people seemed to do better as the sun dropped. The weather kept the bugs sparser than what we’ve seen. Hopefully today’s weather change pushes them earlier in the day. Small olives, sulphurs, cahills, and a few caddis are making up the bulk of the hatch.

The East Branch at Fishs Eddy, The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, and the Mainstem at Lordville all peaked around 70 degrees yesterday. Even with the cooler weather it’s time to give these sections a break until we get cooler temps.
