Delaware River Report: July 4, 2026

The release from Cannonsville was pulsed again last night hitting 700 cfs but is already back to 500 cfs this morning. We had some thunderstorms push through yesterday afternoon that helped drop the the air temp. Whatever rain fell was soaked right into the ground. We may see a few thunderstorms this afternoon with an additional 1/2″ of rain coming overnight. That will also likely soak into the ground. Sulphurs, Cahills, Isonychias, olives, and some caddis are all out on the water. Head to the colder water for the best hatching.

The Beaverkill, lower East Branch, and Mainstem are starting way over 70 degrees today. It’s time to give these rivers a break until they cool back down.

Today will be 87 degrees with a mix of clouds and sun in the morning and possible thunderstorms in the afternoon. Rain totals around .14″. Wind will be 10 – 15 from the North.
