Delaware River Report: August 12, 2026

The release from Cannonsville is 500 cfs. It seems like everyday this Summer we’ve had a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Today is no different so keep an eye on the radar. The flows have dropped back and everything looks good this morning. The fishing on the WB has stayed relatively consistent with the summer sulphurs hatching midday in Deposit. There are some olives mixed in plus a few Isonychias and Cahills. Stick to the lower West if you want to nymph. The algae has been bad up top making it a dry fly only game.

Today will be 81 degrees and partly cloudy. There may be some isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the NW.

What’s Hatching:
Dark Blue Wing Olive – #16 – 18 – Baetis vagans
Sulphur – 16 – 20 – Ephemerella dorothea
Tan Caddis – #16 – 20 – Hydrosyche sp
Light Cahill – #14 – Epeorus vitreus, Ephemerella invaria, Stenacron spp.
Slate Drake – #12-2xl – 12 – Isonychia bicolor
