Yesterday was our 10th Get Trashed river cleanup. The volunteers are incredible. 96 tires and a dumpster of garbage were pulled from the river between Buckingham and Lordville. A big thank you to all who participated!
The release from Cannonsville is 500 cfs. Today looks like a good day to be on the water with clouds and some rain showers in the afternoon. Total rainfall should be .2″ so the rivers should come through just fine. The wind will be up but should be manageable. The mid day sulphurs are getting a bit spotty as the hatch wanes but there still are some out there. It’s also still the best shot at daytime dry fly action – especially on these sunny days. There are some olives mixed in plus a few Isonychias and Cahills. Stick to the lower West if you want to nymph. The algae has been bad up top making it a dry fly only game.
Today will be 73 degrees with a little rain early and some additional showers in the afternoon. Wind will be 10 – 15 mph from the South.

What’s Hatching:
Dark Blue Wing Olive – #16 – 18 – Baetis vagans
Sulphur – 16 – 20 – Ephemerella dorothea
Tan Caddis – #16 – 20 – Hydrosyche sp
Light Cahill – #14 – Epeorus vitreus, Ephemerella invaria, Stenacron spp.
Slate Drake – #12-2xl – 12 – Isonychia bicolor
