Delaware River Report: July 18, 2023

The aqueduct work has been pushed off again. It is now scheduled for Fall of 2024.

The river flows are dropping back. The West Branch is in good shape for wading and floating. The clarity is fine. Midday sulphurs and olives are hatching on the upper river. Int eh evening we should see sulphurs, olives, and a few Isonychias on the lower West. Have a couple light cahills just in case. The bugs may push a little earlier with the cloud cover and potential rain. The East and Main are still off color.

The Beaverkill at Cooks Falls, East Branch at Fishs Eddy, and Mainstem at Lordville will peak over 70 degrees today. It’s time to give these sections a break and fish the colder water.

Today will be 83 degrees with clouds in the morning and potential thunderstorms in the afternoon. We may have some smoke and haze. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the South.

Mike Daccurzio found some fish last night
