Delaware River Report: June 13, 2025
Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is 755 cfs spilling. The water temp at Stilesville dropped again overnight but it is still colder at Hale Eddy. As the spill lessens the water temp will drop. Nymphs, streamers and wets are still the best bets during the day. There are some caddis around that may offer some sporadic dry fly fishing early but most of the bugs are coming late or early in the morning. We’re hitting the time of year when blind casting Isonychias or cahills in the riffles could pay off. We should have a few days of clouds starting tomorrow without much rain.

Delaware River Report: June 12, 2025
Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is 1,083 cfs spilling. The water temp at Stilesville dropped again overnight but it is still colder at Hale Eddy. As the spill lessens the water temps will drop more. Today will look a lot like yesterday except the wind will be out of the North. Nymphs, wets, and streamers will be the best bets early. Sulphurs, cahills, and caddis should make up the bulk of the bugs. And definitely have some Isonychias. The hatches have continued to be later in the evening and even in the dark. The weekend forecast keeps changing but the latest has a little rain over the weekend but not too much. The cloud cover and light rain should be good for the hatches.

Delaware River Report: June 11, 2025
Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is 1,454 cfs spilling. The water temp at Stilesville dropped a few degrees and is starting off at 62 degrees this morning. It’s still cooler below Hale Eddy. The hatches have pushed later due to the warmer water temps. Nymphing and streamers have worked well during the day. Most of the rain slid around us and we are in good shape for floating on the West and Main. The Upper East is reaching a good level and will have some wade opportunitites but the best wading is still on the Beaverkill and Willowemoc.

Delaware River Report: June 10, 2025
Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is 1,594 cfs spilling. The West Branch flow dropped slightly. We’ll have to watch how today’s storms track. The rivers are in decent shape. The spill is still keeping Stilesville warm the river cools down by Hale Eddy. The best wading is still on the Beaverkill and Willowemoc. The hatches have still been later due to the warmer water temps. Along with sulphurs and cahills definitely have your Isonychia box this week. Streamers and nymphs have worked well early.

Delaware River Report: June 9, 2025
Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is over 1,300 cfs spilling. The West Branch flow has leveled off. The rest of the rivers are dropping slowly. We’re at fine levels for floating but the best and safest wading is on the Beaverkill and Willowemoc. The highest water temp is actually in Stilesville due to the spillage. Hopefully the cooler air temps ans cloud cover help cool that down. It will also cool as the amount of water spilling decreases over the next few days. The water temps have pushed the hatches later in the afternoon / evening. We have great weather today with clouds and light rain so that may push some bugs earlier. Streamers and nymphs continue to fish well.

Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is over 1,300 cfs spilling. The storms that have been sliding North of us usually don’t matter but since Cannonsville is spilling it’s coming our way today. The West Branch flow at Walton is 4,450 cfs so the spill will increase more today. The spill is generally clear. Wading is not an option on the West Branch today but floating will be fine. The hatches have pushed later in the day due to the warmer water temps from the spill. The afternoon showers may help a bit today. Streamers and nymphs have worked well before the bugs start.

Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is just under 630 cfs spilling. Most of the heavy storms slid North of us and the rivers look good this morning with just a negligible bump in flows. Today looks like another good day with some possible light showers early, cloud cover, and light wind. We may see some sunshine this afternoon. There is still a wide array of mayflies hatching plus caddis. Sulphurs have been the largest hatch so definitely have that box with you. Nymphs and streamers have been the best bets early.

Delaware River Report: June 6, 2025
Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is just under 800 cfs spilling. We had a few storms pass through overnight but most seemed to slide North of us. The West Branch flow bumped slightly but it shouldn’t be noticeable this morning. Today’s rain doesn’t look bad and the cloud cover and cooler air temp are welcome. There is a potential for some thunderstorms so keep an eye on the radar. The last few days of bright sun pushed the bugs later in the evening. Today’s clouds may push them back earlier. We’re still seeing good hatches with a wide array of bugs. Definitely have all of your sulphurs.

Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is just under 719 cfs spilling. There are some spots people wade the West Branch at 1,500 cfs but the best wading is still on the Beaverkill and Willowemoc. Yesterday was very bright and very warm. Today looks similar although we may see some clouds in the afternoon if the thunderstorms or stray showers come through. Nymphing or wet flies will be the best bets during the day. The hatches may be later in the day / evening due to the weather. And it could be a good night for spinners. We;e still seeing a large array of bugs out there so have everything with you just in case.

Delaware River Report: June 4, 2025
Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is just under 800 cfs spilling. The Beaverkill has dropped quite a bit so there are lots of wade opportunities there and on the Willowemoc. The tailwaters and Mainstem are dropping slowly and still best fished from a boat. The sun may push the hatches a little later in the afternoon but it may also get some caddis active early in the day. If the caddis stay on the bushes nymphs and streamers should work well until the bugs come. It’s till a big mix of bug hatching so carry a lot of flies. And keep an eye out for spinners in the evening.

Delaware River Report: June 3, 2025
Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is 900 cfs spilling. The rivers look good this morning and the tailwaters are at great levels for floating but not for wading yet. The Beaverkill and Willowemoc have wade opportunities and also look good. The hatches have been good with a mix of sulphurs, March Brown, Gray Fox, Cahills,olives, and tan caddis. Some river sections had massive hatches of Dark Blue Sedges (Psilotreta sp) last night. The kind that sounds like rain hitting your windshield. There shouldn’t be any wind today.

Delaware River Report: June 2, 2025
Both reservoirs are still spilling. The release from Cannonsville is 600 cfs. There is 828 cfs spilling. We’re good levels for floating but there is no safe wading on the main rivers today. The Beaverkill is dropping nicely and should offer some wade spots in the next day or two. The West Branch is in good shape this morning with good visibility. Fish were eating yesterday. We have a mix of March Browns, Gray Fox, Sulphurs, Isonychias, Light Cahills, and some Green Drakes on the water. Streamers are working well in the mornings before the hatches. We’ll have more sun today but less wind.
Today will be 70 degrees with a mix of clouds and sun. Wind will be 5 – 10 mph from the North.
